-Tom Cope. Even Though You're Not a Rose (The Bougainvillea, 1994)
You are to me a precious flower,
And as everybody knows,
I am lost within your power,
Even though you're not a rose.
You survive the long hot summers,
And even after winter's snows,
You are still a lovely flower,
Even though you're not a rose.
You are sweet imagination.
You are eternal spring.
You are my inspiration.
You are the music my heart sings!
Come to me now, oh my darling,
Embrace me while you're so near.
If we don't know about tomorrow,
How can I wait until next year?
You are the lovely Bougainvillea
And for now you can't be seen.
But after April's showers
I know that you will bloom again!
You are to me a precious flower,
And as everybody knows,
I am lost within your power,
Even though you're not a rose.
You are to me a precious flower,
And as everybody knows,
I am lost within your power,
Even though you're not a rose.
You survive the long hot summers,
And even after winter's snows,
You are still a lovely flower,
Even though you're not a rose.
